Why have TV advertisers insisted on adding “Search for <product name>” instead of the URL of their website on the bottom of TV adverts? I’m not complaining, I was just wondering why this trend is becoming popular? I assume it is so the user can find the relevant page on their website quickly, but depending on the search engine that the user uses, might not turn up the results that they were looking for. Surely they would want to ensure that the user ends up on their own website, where they can portray a biased view on that product; not what other websites have to say about it. Or maybe the company is so confident in their product, the user will only find raving reviews regarding it? I still think that just including their URL would be more beneficial to be honest.

Hey, just a quick update.
I have finally gotten around to making use of my deviantART account. I have had it for years, but never actually used it. I have now finally updated it and uploaded a lot of my photos – a selection of which are available to buy as prints.

I have been given an absolutely amazing tablet laptop, the HP tx2050ea. It has a touch screen display with a Wacom active digitiser (meaning that you can use both your fingers and a pen). It is only small, but that is a good thing – it is great for taking notes on (especially with the pen) and doing work while on the go. It has some great system specs, ideal for pretty much anything (apart from intense gaming of course – but retro gaming is still awesome).
- CPU: AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60
- Memory: 2048 MB
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150
- Hard Drive: 250 GB (5400 rpm)
- Optical: Lightscribe Super Multi DVD Writer
- Display: 12.1” WXGA HD BrightView Widescreen Display
- Misc: Bluetooth, 802.11 pre-n, Touch Screen, Fingerprint Reader, Infrared, Remote Control
Full specifications can be found Here.
Also, just to add – I have been having some problems with the 404 errors. If you accidentally end up on a none existent page, then instead of seeing an error message, you get a page of HTML coding instead. I am aware of this, and it is down to my webhost’s fault – I don’t know if and when this will be fixed.

Again, it has been a while since posting – I have been very busy with college work as of late. All of my coursework has to be finished by this week, and preperation for my exams is starting.
Woo, finally gotten everything sorted for next year. I am going to be doing an apprenticeship working in web design, graphic design and teaching; as well as doing a Foundation Degree in ICT. I will also be doing a level 3 NVQ in ICT Professionalism, as well as CISCO qualifications. My job placement is now all sorted after my interview yesterday (on my birthday too, what a great time to have it), all ready to start later on this year.

The new update for Wii System Menu has been released, and now stands at version 4.0. This update includes a new SD channel, allowing the use of (down)loading Virtual Console games straight to and from your SD card. It now also allows support for SDHC cards (up tp 32gb, instead of the 2gb limit), meaning that loads of VC games can be stored. Additionally, Nintendo have released an update for the Virtual Console, called the Virtual Console Arcade; allowing for extra arcade titles to be downloaded. The current available games include: Gaplus, Mappy, Starforce and The Tower of Druaga, with other titles coming soon. These titles will cost between 500-600 Wii points to purchase.
To get the update, simply turn on your Wii and go to your Wii System Settings. Scroll to last page and click on Wii Update, and let it do its stuff. You will need to make sure that you have an Internet connection however. It may take a good 5-10 minutes to update also, depending on your connection and Nintendo’s servers – it took mine a while to update.
You can find more information on Nintendo’s website, Here.

I went onto my Myspace profile today (first time in ages, I never use it anymore, it has turned into a load of crap), and I noticed a few updates. Why exactly has Myspace had to resort to copying Facebook in every way possible? Firstly, the MyspaceIM web bar thingy, which is a crappier, buggier version of the Facebook bar. And now they have added features such as ‘people you might know’ and allowing people to view past status updates – erm, hello Facebook? Not that this really bothers me in the slightest, I just can’t see why Myspace can’t come up with some ideas of its own, instead of blatantly trying to steal features; and hence attempt to steal their market share. Facebook is much better in every sense – no annoying profiles with flashing text, enough glittery images to sink a ship; no people with obscure and stupid names (such as xXxhotbabe51xXx). It is down to earth, just a simple clean interface allowing people to talk to each other. I think it is a much personal approach, and they handle privacy much better.
But to be fair, the latest Facebook GUI/layout update didn’t have a great reception; including myself, I think they have taken a step backwards personally.
